Plastic film is a thin material primarily made from resins such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), and polypropylene (PP), representing the most widely used form of flexible packaging. Key production processes include blown film extrusion, cast film extrusion, and biaxial stretching. Common types include BOPP, BOPET, PE, and CPP; characterized by their lightweight nature, moisture resistance, transparency, and excellent barrier properties, they are extensively used for packaging food, pharmaceuticals, and daily chemical products.

In the agricultural sector, agricultural films (such as greenhouse films and mulching films) are crucial for heat and moisture retention and for increasing crop yields. China is the world's largest producer and consumer of plastic film, and the industry is continuously evolving toward high-performance, multifunctional, and eco-friendly, biodegradable solutions.
